In June 2016(?), the Platt R. Spencer Historical Society (an accredited 501(c)(3) non-profit organization), through a very generous donation from the Rood Family became the owners and caretakers of the historic North Myers Road home lived in by Platt R. Spencer and his family.
Through a lot of hard work by Society members, local volunteers and a grant from Sherwin Williams, we have been able to make a great deal of headway on the restoration. But there is still much work to be done. If you would like to be kept in the loop and be notified of future property work days, please drop us a line.
Once refurbished, the home will serve as the home of the Historical Society and a small museum.
